In 1969 Afra and Tobia Scarpa changed the face of upholstered furniture with the creation of the Soriana armchair, realized for Cassina.
The Soriana armchair by Cassina, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1969, is an iconic piece of design that won the Compasso d’Oro award. Cassina brings this timeless chair back to us today, enriched with an eco-friendly approach thanks to the work of Cassina Lab. Each model can be upholstered with 100% recycled PET, reflecting the brand's commitment to sustainability.
The Soriana armchair stands out for its soft, voluminous lines, with a generous cover held in place by a large metal clamp. The collection includes armchairs, chaise lounges, two- or three-seater sofas, and poufs. Comfort has been enhanced through bags filled with BioFoam and upholstery made from recycled PET, with new covers and colors for the metal clamp completing Soriana's triumphant return to Cassina's range.

Technical Features: The base is a recyclable wood panel with low formaldehyde emissions; the metal structure clamps the armchair, which does not require internal support.
Comfort: Internal padding made of BioFoam® microspheres, a plant-based bioplastic; the seating comfort is further enhanced by a blown fiber padding made from 100% recycled PET from Plastic Bank®.
