In 2011 Cassina revisited the Veliero bookcase originally created by Franco Albini in 1940 for his house in Milan.
Veliero Bookcase by FRANCO ALBINI
Veliero bookcase's geometric shapes and simple lines create a surprising and innovative design that defies the laws of physics. The structure features two oblique solid ash wood uprights attached to the base via tie rods as well as five pairs of tempered glass shelves that seem to be suspended in the air. The Velieri bookcase can also be used as a room divider because of its lightweight, double-sided structure. This piece of furniture is available in natural or black stained ash wood finishes.
