Designed by French designer Jean-Marie Massaud in 2009, the Archibald armchair combines soft lines with unmistakable craftsmanship, characteristic of every Poltrona Frau armchair. With a light, enveloping structure, it offers exceptional comfort thanks to its attention to detail and the high-quality materials used by Frau. The upholstery is highly customizable: available in leather or removable fabric. One distinctive feature is the refined stitching: contrasting stitching on the leather version or tone-on-tone stitching for the fabric version. The frame is made of steel, while the polyurethane padding ensures unique comfort. The base consists of four slim feet made of cast aluminum.

Every year, new studies and colour research enrich the textile range with colours and patterns that reflect contemporary trends, offering both solid colours and more complex geometric designs.

Poltrona Frau uses only Pelle Frau® leather, a material that undergoes 21 stages of processing, more than twice the industry standard. This treatment ensures superior technical properties such as water resistance, breathability and greater resistance to wear and stains. The Archibald Gran Comfort armchair, an extra-large version of the archibald chair, is designed to offer an even more relaxing seating experience.
