The Archibald Gran Comfort armchair by Poltrona Frau, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, is a more informal and dynamic reinterpretation of the original Archibald armchair, which won a Wallpaper Award in the "Best Domestic Design" category in 2009. Massaud has created another beloved and distinctive model in the Poltrona Frau catalog, envisioning a sort of soft, overflowing sack that adapts and falls with sinuous movements on a light metal structure, with the frame and feet in steel.
The design of the Archibald Gran Comfort armchair creates a fascinating contrast between volumes and materials, embodying contemporary elegance and standing out among the rest of the armchairs and poufs on the market. The chair's base rests on four steel feet connected by a perimeter frame with Ruthenium finish, giving it a sophisticated look. The seat structure is made of beechwood, while the backrest structure is in steel with perimeter padding achieved through elastic straps. The top of the backrest is shaped with deformable rubber, offering optimal comfort and support. Both structures are finished with scratch-resistant black paint, protecting them over time. The Archibald Gran Comfort pouf, designed to be paired with the armchair, shares the same technical characteristics as the seat, creating a visual and functional harmony in the furniture set.

The armchair can be customized in fine Pelle Frau® Safari leather or a selection of Poltrona Frau fabrics. In the leather version, the perimeter profile is made with a raw leather cut and hand-painted with a matching tint. The stitching can be tone-on-tone or contrasting, depending on personal preferences. In the fabric version, the stitching is tone-on-tone, adding a touch of discreet elegance.

Removable Cover: The upholstery of the Archibald Gran Comfort armchair is removable in both leather and fabric versions.
Technical Features: The seat suspension is achieved with elastic straps.
Comfort: The seat and backrest padding are ensured by two molded polyurethane foam cushions, attached to the metal structure with Velcro strips. A goose feather quilt, also attached with Velcro strips, overlaps the cushions.
