Maralunga 40 Maxi Sofa by VICO MAGISTRETTI
The Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa of Cassina is the contemporary reinterpretation of one of the most iconic projects by Vico Magistretti. First presented in 1973 and awarded the Compasso d’Oro, the model was updated in 2018 with more generous proportions and an even more welcoming line. The Maxi version retains the famous patented internal mechanism – an invention as simple as it is ingenious – that allows the backrest to be adjusted thanks to a bicycle chain integrated into the structure.
In collaboration with the Magistretti Foundation, the entire family to which it belongs Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa It has been further updated in 2024 with an increase in the inclination of the backrest by a few more degrees, improving ergonomics and establishing the sofa as a true icon of comfort in the landscape of Italian design. The Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa of Cassina is available in two linear dimensions:
2-seater sofa: cm.214x105x72/100 h
3-seater sofa: cm.310x105x72/100h
All models include feather lumbar cushions and an independently adjustable backrest for each seat. The linear sofa can also be accompanied by an armchair with the same seat depth and a footrest.

Removable Covering: The cover of the Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa is removable. It is available in leather or fabric from the collections. Cassina, with two aesthetic variants: the version with normal stitching and the one with pinched stitching, which emphasizes its contemporary character.
Technical Features: The steel structure with elastic straps and the padding in differentiated density polyurethane foam ensure support and durability over time. The base in solid canaletto walnut or painted in the finishes. Cassina complete the composition, offering a solid and refined visual presence.
Comfort: The expansion of dimensions is one of the distinctive features of the Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa. The depth of 105 cm and the presence of feather back cushions enhance the feeling of comfort; moreover, each seat is independent and equipped with a reclining backrest for total personalization.
