The idea comes from the analogy between skeleton and skin: the leather acts as a second skin that wraps around and supports the metal structure, providing solidity and softness at the same time. This seat, like the others in the Cab collection, is also available in the PRO version, particularly suitable for furnishing offices and contract projects.
The production process of the Cab 412 Chair is entirely handcrafted and requires twenty-two manual operations. The twenty-one leather parts are cut, thinned using a technique called skiving, and then sewn with precision before being fitted onto the black painted tubular steel structure. A zipper closes the upholstery like a tailored suit, transforming the seat into a unique and unmistakable piece. This complex craftsmanship is the result of the experience and mastery that have always characterized Cassina. Over the years, Cassina has introduced new versions such as the Cab Maxi, which is wider and deeper by a few centimeters, and the Cab Baby, made with the same artisanal care but in smaller dimensions. The collection also includes the new Plus leathers, in pure aniline, which enhance the naturalness and softness of the material.
