Born from the drawings that Renzo Frau left to his wife Savina Pisati, the armchair has been updated by designer Lazzeroni for its 90th anniversary, maintaining the essential proportions of the original design and enhancing the model's sculptural nature. Lazzeroni's intervention introduces new technical solutions and greater ergonomic attention, while preserving the formal language of the Vanity Fair that has defined Poltrona Frau's identity for decades.
The design of the Vanity Fair XC Chair is distinguished by its seasoned beechwood frame, the handcrafted padding in vegetal and rubberized horsehair, and the spring system with biconical steel springs hand-tied onto jute straps. This traditional approach is combined with a goose down seat cushion with a polyurethane insert, which maintains its shape over time and offers softer, more welcoming comfort than the historic model. The row of leather-covered studs that trim the backrest and sides, along with the rear plate in gunmetal or gold finish, echoes the brand's signature craftsmanship.
