The Poltrona Frau Mesa Table is considered a benchmark of rational Italian design, created by the famous designer duo Elena Valle and Massimo Vignelli. The Mesa Dining Table, now on the market, is a reissue of an original 1985 design, which has been optimized and made more contemporary. The composition of the Mesa Table stems from the combination of two primary geometric shapes, the circle and the cone, transformed into a piece of furniture with a strong architectural identity.

The Poltrona Frau Mesa Dining Table looks like a solid, compact monolith, but is lightened by the purity of its design. The natural slate top interacts with the stone column, creating a visual balance that makes the Mesa table suitable for formal dining rooms, contract spaces, and contemporary environments with a strong character.

Features of the Mesa Dining Table

Technical Features: The Mesa Table has an 81 kg Ligurian slate top, worked using traditional splitting techniques to preserve its natural wrinkles and veins, with a stain-resistant surface treatment. Underneath the top is a steel sheet sub-top that improves stability and resistance. The 118 kg column base is made of gray Pietra Serena stone in a truncated cone shape and includes a shaped plastic tip to protect the floor. The tabletop is connected to the column by a burnished steel tube with a three-arm adjustable cross, which allows for precise leveling of the tabletop. The total weight of the Mesa Dining Table is 199 kg.
