Conceived by Gordon Guillaumier, RODA's Eolie collection is a contemporary and versatile design composed of sun loungers and side tables that combine to create a relaxing outdoor environment.
Eolie Outdoor Sunbed by GORDON GUILLAUMIER
Originally conceived as a teak wood sun lounger with beveled slats, Gordon Guillaumier's Eolie series was enriched with the addition of an awning, also in teak, to provide an accessory to protect from shade. Subsequently, the design was further developed to include the possibility of doubling the single sunbed and introducing complementary tables, creating a complete composition. RODA and Guillamier paid particular attention to the aesthetics of the naked furniture, creating a structure pleasing to the eye even without using cushions. The name 'Eolie' was chosen, inspired by the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands in the Mediterranean Sea (Eolie in Italian), which represents the designer's geographical area of origin, as he is Maltese. The image of the loungers as isolated, slatted platforms suspended from the floor, seeming to float like islands on a terrace or a beach, is what he wants to convey. The name evokes the sun, the sea, and holidays, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and well-being.
The new Eolie collection, made of iroko wood, offers a modular system of 'islands of relaxation' comprising sun loungers, tables, canopies, and gazebos. The succession of wide wooden slats characterizes both the reclining lounger and the side tables, available in different sizes with two or three slats. The combination of these elements creates true islands of comfort.
The Eolie outdoor sunbed reclines in four positions and can be customized with wide cushions that cover the entire surface or narrower cushions that leave part of the slats uncovered. For protection from the sun, a single rectangular canopy with Batyline cover in Roda colors is available.
