The Opinion Ciatti Ptolomeo Bookshelf, developed by Italian designer Bruno Rainaldi, was born from an intuition as simple as it was revolutionary: to transform the chaotic piles of books that populate homes into an orderly, floating column of furniture. The design eliminates all superfluous elements to focus on the content, using a steel structure consisting of a central column and thin shelves that, once filled, become completely invisible to the eye.

The Opinion Ciatti Ptolomeo Bookcase is a design tribute to the Royal Library of Alexandria in Egypt and its founder, Ptolemy I Soter. The boldness of its minimalist profile allows it to defy gravity, creating a “naked” effect where the books seem to support themselves, making this piece of furniture a functional work of art capable of adapting to contexts ranging from modern living rooms to the most traditional bedrooms.

Features of the Opinion Ciatti Ptolomeo Bookcase

Technical Features: The structure of the Ptolomeo bookcase is made entirely of lacquered steel or stainless steel, with a central column that acts as a support for the thin C-shaped shelves. The base, designed to ensure complete balance, can be in polished stainless steel or metal coordinated with the structure. In the Ptolomeo Luce version, the backrest incorporates LED lighting that emphasizes the presence of the volumes. The Ptolomeo x4 variant is equipped with a 360° swivel mechanism to facilitate access to books on all sides. The Ptolomeo Wall modular system is designed for wall mounting, allowing for potentially infinite vertical compositions.
