The Saula Marina Sofa, designed by Javier Mariscal for Moroso, is an object that looks like it came out of a comic strip. Its round, overlapping and deliberately exaggerated shapes create an ironic presence that challenges the logic of traditional design. The visual universe from which it originates is that of underground comics, which Mariscal openly cites as his source of inspiration.
Every curve of the Saula Marina Sofa seems to respond to an internal logic that is more emotional than functional. The proportions are deliberately unbalanced, almost caricatural, yet maintained in a precise equilibrium that appeals to instinct rather than measure.
