The Cattelan Italia Skorpio Table, developed by Italian designer Andrea Lucatello in 2014, was conceived as a radical rethinking of the dining table base. The steel structure of Cattelan's Skorpio is built on a system of bars that intersect and taper upwards, recalling the geometric shape of a scorpion's claws. This intertwining creates a precise optical effect: the table base appears almost suspended, while the transparent glass top amplifies the visual lightness of the whole. The result is an original dining table with a strong but not overwhelming presence, capable of interacting with modern and contemporary environments.

The Cattelan Italia Skorpio Dining Table has transformed the base from a functional element to a design statement. Lucatello demonstrates that steel and glass can coexist without one prevailing over the other: the metal structure captures the attention, while the transparent top reflects it back into the surrounding space. Even in its larger versions, the Skorpio Dining Table maintains an overall perceptual lightness that is rarely found in tables of this size. The Skorpio Table is available in rectangular, square, and round shapes, with a wide choice of sizes, including: 
Rectangular Skorpio Table for 6 people: cm. 160x90x74h.
Square Skorpio Table for 8 people: cm. 150x150x74h.
Round Skorpio table for 12 people: cm. 200x200x74h. 

The Cattelan Skorpio Table can be customised in terms of the finish of the base, choosing from colours such as graphite, pearl, black, titanium, or bronze. The top is available in glass of various transparencies. Variants with wooden, ceramic, and glass tops with artistic prints are also available.

Features of the Skorpio Dining Table

Technical Features: The base of the Skorpio Dining Table is made of painted steel with an embossed finish, or in brushed versions with special craftsmanship that determines the uniqueness of the result. The top is made of 15 mm thick glass in the standard versions, reduced to 12 mm in the 160x90, 182x90, and 200x106 formats. The top rests on the base.
