The Wassily chair was conceived by Bauer and takes its name from the fact that it is said to have been designed for Wassily Kandinsky's flat. The current version dates from 1927. The armchair consists of a chrome-plated or lacquered steel tube frame. Seat, back, and armrests are made of leather, pony skin, or heavy hemp coupled with leather.
