Alivar's Saarinen table is named after the designer Eero Saarinen, one of the most famous exponents of the Bauhaus school, who created it in the 1950s.

The Saarinen table is a product sold exclusively by Alivar, a leader in the Made In Italy furniture sector.
The Saarinen table is part of a series of furniture, including coffee tables, whose legs have been replaced by the designer to achieve a visually less confusing result than the traditional table. Looking at it you get the feeling of looking at a single harmonious piece. Saarinen wanted to create an uninterrupted element, created in a single material and moulded, without dividing the different parts that compose it; however, the technology of the time did not allow this and the project remained partly unfinished.
Today, the Saarinen table has a white, black, or lacquered cast aluminium pedestal, while the top is available in different materials: marble or granite, white or black laminate, liquid laminate lacquer, oak or LG Hi-Macs, an acrylic stone.
