The Bonsai sofa by Arflex, designed by the Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune in 2016, takes its name and inspiration from the perfect and balanced proportions of the Japanese art of bonsai. Its organic, rounded, and compact shape conveys a visual balance that unites rigor and softness, transforming a simple piece of furniture into a sculptural and refined presence.
The design of the Bonsai sofa comes from the desire to create a seat that can harmoniously blend with the space, thanks to its fluid profile and visual lightness. The curved lines and full volumes are designed to offer a welcoming comfort, while the absence of sharp edges and the asymmetry of the composition contribute to a balanced yet dynamic aesthetic. Technical Features: The structure of the Bonsai sofa Arflex is made of metal, with padding in molded polyurethane foam and polyester fiber, ensuring an elastic and durable seat. The model is offered in different variants: with a chocolate-stained ash wood base, with a black lacquered metal base, or in the version with a skirt that hides the legs and gives a more classic and soft character.
